The Vestry of St. Christopher’s, with the Rector, provides the governance for the smooth administration of the parish.
The Vestry is made up of 9 members of the congregation who are elected for three-year terms.
The Wardens are the lay-leaders of the Vestry. The term Warden comes from the Anglican / English tradition when parishes exercised cival responsibility
over a community or rural area.
While the duties have changed over the centuries, the title continues.
The Vestry also includes an elected treasurer and a clerk.
The Parish operates under the Bishop and Canons of the Episcopal Church of the United States of America,
the Episcopal Diocese of the Great Lakes, and the by-laws of St. Christopher’s Parish.
