The Episcopal Diocese of the Great Lakes has announced three candidates to be elected and consecrated as the first Bishop of the Diocese in October at the annual Diocesan convention.
Each parish in the diocese is represented by a number of voting electors or delegates depending on the average Sunday attendance of the parish.
Once the potential Bishop is elected and news of that election reaches our national church center in New York, the individual must received the required approval from the standing committee of every diocese within the Episcopal Church and every Bishop (with jurisdiction) within the Episcopal Church. Once the election is certified, the ordination/consecration date and location will be announced. At this time, the consecration is likely to take place in April of 2027.
